Jim was born and raised in Somerset County, Maine in the upper Kennebec River Valley and currently resides with his wife Susan in Waterville.
Jim comes to the organization with over thirty years of firefighting & emergency medical experience in both volunteer and career fire departments. Jim holds an Associates of Applied Science in Fire Science Technology from Southern Maine Community College and is currently working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science with a Minor in Business Administration from the University of Maine.
Jim is a graduate of the Maine State Fire Academy and is a Certified Firefighter I & II, Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor I, and Driver/Operator. Jim is also a licensed Master Plumber, Master Oil Burner Technician and Master Gas Appliance Technician. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at Kennebec Valley Community College where he instructs students on the National Propane Gas Association’s program. This extensive knowledge and experience will be very helpful with our new gas fired Mobile Live Fire Training Unit.
With the addition of Jim, the Maine Fire Service Institute will continue to raise the bar on fire training in the State of Maine. Please join us in welcoming him to the team at MFSI.
