With up to 1000 vdc involved in these systems, it is vital that firefighters understand what is above them, what can hurt you, and how to stay safe. With these 3-6 hour workshops*, students will walk away with a solid understanding of the principals of solar electricity generation, confidence in how to safely fight fires in PV equipped structures, as well as some hands-on time with an actual commercial, or prop-mounted PV system. * 6-hour workshops include additional response logistic discussions for solar sites in Maine. <a href=Matt Paiss Fire Captain Matthew Paiss, is the President of Energy Response Solutions, Inc. as well as a career firefighter with 21 years’ experience, and a proud member of San Jose Fire Fighters Local 230.
