The County Representatives shall serve in the following capacity:
-To serve as a positive Ambassador for Maine Fire Training and Education to local fire departments and county associations.
-To encourage local Fire Chiefs and Training Officers to direct requests for training or inquiries to the MFT&E website or the appropriate Training Program Manager.
-Communicate updates to fire service organizations at meetings and events regarding MFT&E services and programs.
-Direct local Fire Chiefs and Training Officers to the respective Training Program Manager for assistance in local fire training delivery and development.
-Serve as a liaison to the Training Program Managers on issues or concerns related to fire service training in respective county.
-Provide monthly reports of attendance at meetings and events to the Director and Training Program Managers.
-Shall not serve as the primary contact to fire chiefs and training officers for delivery of fire service training courses.
-Shall not assist local fire chiefs and training officers on the development on in-house training programs but rather defer that function to Training Program Managers.
-Shall not negatively communicate disapproval of MFT&E administrative, operational issues, curriculums and programs. (Please keep opinions to yourself!)
-Shall not circumvent MFT&E Policies and Procedures particularly when it comes to Instructor selection and availability. (You should not be the sole provider of instruction in the county.)
-Shall not supervise MFT&E Instructors. (Training Program Managers are responsible for supervision of MFT&E Instructors)
The above expectations supersede any previous policies, guidelines or expectations.
